The submission period for the 5th Annual Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award is now open! From now until February 5th any writer with an unpublished or self-published novel has the opportunity to enter and win a publishing contract with Penguin, along with a $15,000 advance.
The contest takes up to the first 5,000 entries in each category: Young Adult and General Fiction. From here, the fields get narrowed down each month. The first cut comes on February 23rd based on the pitch each contestant entered. From the original 10,000 entries only 2,000 (1,000 per category) will advance. It gets more intense from then on.
